Fast-rising author William Michaelian has, after a couple of years of observing what doesn't work with web sites, comes up with one that not only tells a bit about his books, poetry and other writings, but offers a peek into this witty and hitherto mysterious writer's mind in a format that is entertaining and quickly downloaded. It's the best one I've seen.

Michaelian, who has one book soon to be in the bookstore windows and another in the hopper, offers up a selection of tidbits on his web site that range from hilarious casual observations, to family anecdotes, to his personal recipes. All are spiced by his black and white sketches, spare but poignant, that put a personal touch on his writings.

Wit is the leavening ingredient in Michaelian's writing, and you'll find an abundance of it in his web site. And, yes, he regularly updates it, so you don't know exactly which or where of his observations will pop up. But they're always a pleasant surprise.
